Nneka Ihim Not Returning to 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' After 1 Season

Nneka says her priority is expanding her family.

Nneka Ihim is out of The Real Housewives of Potomac ET has learned.

On Monday, the one-season cast member released a statement to People confirming her departure ahead of season 9.

"I will not be returning for season 9 of RHOP," she told the outlet. Nneka says that her priority is now focusing on expanding her family.

The lawyer was first announced to be joining the show in September 2023 ahead of its November premiere. The final episode premiered on Monday, April 14.

In January, ET spoke with Nneka who dissected all of the biggest moments from the season, including her beef with Wendy Osefo, and shared that she felt comfortable with how she looked on screen as the season aired.

"Ultimately, I have completely portrayed myself in my true form," she said of her role in the show. "I am here a resident and Potomac proper. I have a great life. I have great friends. I have an amazing husband, and I was rightfully put as part of the group."

While she is certainly the most recent star from the Maryland-based series to leave the show, Nneka is not the first.

At the end of March, with several episodes still left to air, Candiace Dillard Bassett -- who joined the show in season 3 -- announced that she would be leaving at the end of season 8. In an exclusive interview with ET just a few weeks later, the singer-turned-reality star shared her exciting reason for leaving the show -- she and her husband are expecting a baby!

The 37-year-old and her husband, Chris Bassett, 46, told ET that their forthcoming bundle of joy is "95 percent" of the reason that they decided it would be best for Candiace to step back from the franchise after six seasons.

"I was really adamant about creating a space for not just the baby, but for me -- for us -- for this time in our lives," she said.

The same day that ET broke Candiace's baby news, RHOP original cast member Robyn Dixon shared during an episode of her Reasonably Shady podcast that she was not invited back for the upcoming season.

"I will not be returning to season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac," said Robyn. "The network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of better words."

It's currently unclear if fellow season 8 cast members Ashley Darby, Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger and Mia Thornton are planning to return for the ninth season, which does not have a premiere date yet.
