ET has rounded up a list of some of Hollywood’s hottest using their native way of speaking. Watch below:
1. Jamie Dornan
Dornan, 34, grew up in Northern Ireland, and while he definitely hides his accent well when playing the American billionaire Christian Grey in the steamy Fifty Shades film franchise, his sexiness certainly travels off-screen. Listen to him recently chat to ET about the role:
2. Liam Neeson
Neeson, 64, hails from Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Fans, of course, recognize him from his movies Taken, Love Actually, Schindler's List and many more. Listen to him bond with late-night host Conan O'Brien over their Irish background and explain how he spoke growing up:
3. Saoirse Ronan
The 22-year-old actress was born in The Bronx, New York, to Irish-born parents. The family moved back to the Emerald Isle when she was only three years old. Ronan is best known for her Oscar-nominated role in 2015’s Brooklyn. Hear her teach The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert how to master the art of the Irish accent:
4. Colin Farrell
The 40-year-old actor, who was raised in Dublin, Ireland, is best known for his roles in Daredevil and Total Recall. Hear the star’s brogue while gushing over his family on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!:
5. Bono
The U2 frontman, real name Paul David Hewson, grew up in the town of Finglas, a suburb of Dublin. The track “Cedarwood Road” appears on U2’s “Songs of Innocence” album and is named after the street he grew up on. Hear Bono address the roaring crowd during a concert in Dublin:
6. Cillian Murphy
You may recognize Murphy from Netflix’s Peaky Blinders or films like The Dark Knight and Inception. The hunky 40-year-old actor is from Cork, Ireland. Hear him exercise those Irish vocals in a throwback interview by Movies Ireland:
7. Michael Fassbender
Fassbender was born to an Irish mother and German father. The 39-year-old actor grew up in Killarney, Ireland, so we can still hear that brogue shining through. ET’s Carly Steel caught up with the star last year while he was promoting his film, Light Between the Oceans, where he joked he wasn’t the average Irishman after admitting to crying when reading the film’s script. “Well, I'm half German, maybe, that's why. Germans don't cry?” he said, laughing. Listen to some of their interview here:
