She seemed to be having a blast!
Duchess in the skies... well, sort of! Kate Middleton flew an airplane without leaving the ground on Tuesday, visiting an Air Cadets skills development camp and meeting the cadets in training.
The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a scarlet red peacoat, a fitting shade for Valentine’s Day, paired with black jeans and a black turtleneck underneath. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail when stepping into a training plane’s cockpit.

Though she didn’t leave the ground, Middleton did get a chance to “fly” a plane, trying out the virtual simulator. She also participated in several exercises with the cadets.
She was photographed chatting and sharing a laugh while learning about weapon safety.

Middleton should be used to being around pilots. Her husband, Prince William, is an emergency pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
“It’s rewarding when I come here to do this job, and I look forward to coming here every day, whether it’s 5:30 or going to bed at 2 in the morning,” he said in a documentary last September. “The shift work is still exciting, and it’s challenging for the variety. I love working in a team, and that’s something my other job doesn’t actually do. You’re more out there on your own a bit.”
The couple also took their son, Prince George, to see the planes last July. The tiny royal threw a rather adorable temper tantrum at the time. Watch the clip below to see the cute pics!
