The talk show host put rumors to rest on Thursday's show.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi finally have a kid! Well, sort of.
The talk show host made the announcement on her show on Thursday, revealing that she and wife Portia de Rossi have gotten a new puppy, whom they named “Kid.”
“There have been rumors forever, when are you and Portia gonna have a kid?” Ellen said with a laugh. “So, now I can say we have a Kid. So it can just stop.”

The 57-year-old host admitted that having the new puppy has “really makes me appreciate what it’s like to be a mother.”
“He’s 9 weeks old and cute as can be, but I’ll tell you what’s not cute is to wake up at 11, and 1, and 3 and 5. And then 5 is when he’s up, up,” she said. “I’m trying to hold a puppy while I’m trying to make coffee. And I can’t do anything. He doesn’t let me do anything.”
Ellen also used the story as a cautionary tale for her DJ on the show, Stephen "tWitch" Boss, who is expecting his first child with Dancing With the Stars pro Allison Holker this year.
“He’s got so much energy so I’m just warning you right now,” she said of Kid. “When you have -- well when Allison has that baby -- you’re gonna be so tired.”
