WATCH: Bristol Palin Calls Off Wedding Amid Tabloid Rumors
Bristol, the daughter of former Vice Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin, and her fiancé, U.S. Marine and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, were set to tie the knot during a large ceremony over Memorial Day weekend.
However, the wedding was abruptly canceled after tabloids reported that Dakota had a "secret wife," and had a previous relationship that he had allegedly withheld from Bristol.
Bristol's mother released a statement from her daughter in the wake of the wedding's cancellation refuting the tabloid stories.
"Regarding salacious headlines in recent days about 'secret wives', Dakota and I discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement. Dakota was legally divorced years ago, as any good reporter could and should have disclosed to readers," Bristol said at the time. "As usual, false stories and dramatically written headlines begging controversy should be disregarded, and we have faith that our privacy will be respected at this time by those with decency."

The 24-year-old former DWTS finalist also posted a photo to Instagram two days before announcing the canceled wedding, which was captioned, "Trust in God's timing. It's better to wait a while and have things fall into place than to rush and have things fall apart."
It's unclear if or when the wedding will be rescheduled.
Bristol, who has a 6-year-old son Tripp from her previous relationship with Levi Johnston, ended her blog post with a tone of hope and acceptance.
