The actress tells ET's Nancy O'Dell, 'Under the circumstances I'm doing really, really extremely well.'
Actress and TV personality Sherri Shepherd has been embroiled in a lengthy legal battle with her ex-husband Lamar Sally, which has shoved her and her family into the media spotlight.
Sitting down with Entertainment Tonight's Nancy O'Dell to talk about her upcoming movie Woodlawn, the former View co-host opened up about her legal troubles. and how she's been holding up.

"Under the circumstances I'm doing really, really extremely well," Sherri told ET exclsuively. "I don't care what I go through, nothing gets me down. You know me. I will smile my way through anything. I believe smiling and laughter is the best medicine."
The couple separated in May 2014 and have since been involved in a custody battle over a now 8-month-old baby born via surrogate. Just last week, a judge ruled that Shepherd is the legal mother of the baby. Up until that point, the surrogate was listed as the legal mother on the birth certificate.
The 48-year-old star admits that, even with a positive outlook, her protracted legal fight has been emotionally challenging.

"Life is difficult. So you just hang tough and you keep going. People who know me, my character, my integrity — I feel it speaks for itself," Sherri said.
As for how she sees this all playing out, Sherri remains hopeful.
"I feel like everything always works out in the end,” she said. "I'm a big believer that everything always works out in the end. Everybody has their challenges. So right now, it’s my challenge.”
