Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon Explained 'Cruel Intentions' To Their Kids

Columbia Pictures

'Cruel Intentions' is just another family topic for Ryan and Reese.

Cruel Intentions
is not exactly a family film, but for Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon, it's a major cornerstone of how their family came to be!

The divorced co-parents recently took their kids to Central Park, the same park that their R-rated film about a sex bet was filmed.

While their children Ava, 15, and Deacon, 10, have not seen the film, Ryan told HuffPost Live on their recent family walk in the famed park, "We were reminiscing then because we shot a lot of Cruel Intentions there, so there we were with Ava and Deacon talking, and they were tripping out on the fact that we were there shooting a movie before they were even a thought in our minds."

Witherspoon also posted a throwback pic to the set just a few weeks ago. She met Ryan before the set, but shortly after they filmed, the couple married in 1999. They divorced in 2007 but have remained close.

The 40-year old actor had nothing but lovely things to say about his ex-wife. "It's going well, and she's happy and remarried, and our kids are incredible," he told HuffPost Live. "I'm proud of the way we’ve handled it and who our little people are."

Witherspoon remarried in 2011 to talent agent Jim Toth. She has a 2-year-old with him named Tennessee.
