While Sherri Shepherd is still waiting for the conclusion of her custody battle with estranged husband Lamar Salley over an unborn child, she now finds herself in the middle of a custody modification battle with ex Jeffrey Tarpley.
In legal documents obtained by ET, Tarpley, Shepherd's first husband requests full custody of the former couple's son, nine-year-old Jeffrey Jr.
The papers claim that Jeffrey Jr., a special needs child, has been neglected, accusing Sherri of leaving the boy with "unskilled nannies." The filings go on to claim that Jeffrey Jr. has been falling behind in school -- he allegedly reads at a 2nd-grade level and hasn't been taught proper hygiene or how to correctly tie his shoes.
Sherri and estranged husband Lamar Salley are also in a custody battle for a child to be born by surrogate.
Lamar's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, who represented Kevin Federline in his case against Britney Spears, told ET, "What Lamar is hoping to achieve is that there's no dispute whose custody upon birth that child will be delivered. He's set up a home here to be a custodial home for a child of that age and he wants to take custody hoping he'll be able to work out a meaningful custodial agreement without drama."
Sherri and Lamar's baby is due July 28.
