Dina Lohan Arrested For DWI

Dina Lohan was arrested for drunk driving last night, in her hometown of Long Island, NY. She was pulled over just before midnight on September 12 for allegedly driving 77 mph in a 55 mph zone.

According to reports, her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit of .08 and she was taken to a nearby police station and booked. Lindsay Lohan's mother, 50, was later released to a third party.

Officials say that Lohan initially claimed she was injured during the course of the arrest, but later recanted her claim after medical personal determined she was fine.

Lohan is due in court later this month.

UPDATE: Dina Lohan's lawyer has released the following statement to ET:
"Dina Lohan is a good person. Her life has been dedicated to her four children. She has worked hard her entire life and she has been a 'Parent Trapped' with the entire world watching her in a fishbowl with murky water due to no fault of her own. She appreciates the grave seriousness of this matter and is mindful that the Nassau County District Attorney considers these types of cases a top priority. But as an attorney with 45 years of experience, I am confident that as a first time offender, with absolutely no prior record, that the Judicial System will treat Dina Lohan with even-handed fairness."
