Jon Hamm: They're Called 'Privates' For a Reason

Jon Hamm isn't laughing at the recent headlines claiming that a pair of form-fitted pants on set of Mad Men revealed the actor is well endowed ...but he also admits to Rolling Stone magazine that it could be worse.

An AMC insider told The New York Daily News this past week that some of Hamm's scenes required him to wear "special underwear." Referring to the actor as having "impressive anatomy," the insider claimed that "this season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination."

"I'm wearing pants, for f***'s sake," the Mad Men star told Rolling Stone. "They're called 'privates' for a reason."

Before this story about Hamm's "privates" made headlines, there was already a Tumblr titled Jon Hamm's Wang that had been posting pics of the actor for years. "But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my cock, I feel like that wasn't part of the deal," he said of the site. "But whatever. I guess it's better than being called out for the opposite."

The 42-year-old star, often mistaken for his too-cool character Don Draper, added, "I mean, it's not like I'm a f***ing lead miner. There are harder jobs in the world."
