Jonathan Rhys Meyers Sentenced by French Court
Irish film star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was reportedly slapped with a one-month suspended sentence by a French court on Wednesday.
France 24, a French news organization, reports that in June 2009, Meyers, 34, was arrested in a bar at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris after he allegedly struck a barman and threatened to pay for three of the responding officers’ families to be killed.
According to the news source, the court claimed that Meyers had compensated the victims but did not offer details.
Reportedly, Meyers was not present for the ruling, which also called for him to pay a 1,000-euro fine.
