Daryl Hannah Handcuffed in Washington
Actress Daryl Hannah was arrested Tuesday in front of the White House along with other environmental activists.
The Kill Bill star was led away in handcuffs when she refused police orders to move from a sidewalk near the White House where a sit-in was being held to protest a planned oil pipeline from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Hannah, who has been arrested in the past for environmental causes, told the Associated Press the protesters were calling for clean energy investments and urging President Barack Obama not to bow to oil lobbyists who favor the pipeline project.
