Possible Ryan Phillippe Baby Bears His Name

A child that may have been fathered by actor Ryan Phillippe bears his name, according to the birth certificate.

People.com reported that the birth certificate for the child of Alexis Knapp, reported to have had a fling with Phillippe, sports a curious blank in the paternal portion but clearly displays the name of the baby bearing his last name - Kailani Merizalde Phillippe Knapp.

The 36-year-old actor was reportedly at the side of the 21-year-old aspiring actress/model when she gave birth last month. Although he has yet to acknowledge the situation publicly, it was reported in March that he was awaiting the results of a paternity test.

A source told People Magazine in March, "Ryan is aware of the situation [and] totally prepared to take responsibility should the child be his."

Knapp was only 20 when she was linked to Phillippe in mid-2010. Despite their 15-year age difference, she reportedly discovered she was pregnant post breakup.

Phillippe has two children, Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7, with ex-wife and Academy Award Winner Reese Witherspoon, whom he divorced in 2008. He was later involved in a nearly two-year relationship with Aussie actress Abbie Cornish, whom he met on the set of 'Stop-Loss' while still married to Witherspoon.

The baby in question was born on July 1 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
