El Dorado is Shakira's 11th studio album and follows her 2014 self-titled LP, which featured the Rihanna collaboration "Can't Remember to Forget You," "Empire" and "Dare (La La La)," which went on to become the second theme song for the 2014 World Cup.
The first single from El Dorado, "Me Enamoré" (which translates into "I fell in love"), was released on April 7 and chronicles the story of how she fell in love with her current partner, Gerard Piqué. A day before her big announcement, Shakira also shared a sneak peek of the song's music video, which was filmed in Barcelona, Spain, and will be arriving later this month.
The mother of two has been busy collaborating with various artists, including Prince Royce, Maluma and Carlos Vives, but has shied away from public view. Up next for the singer, Shak is scheduled to perform at Univision’s Upfront presentation May 16 at New York City's Lyric Theater.
