Sara Bareilles Shows Her Sweet Side
On my list of favorite interviews ever this one ranks pretty high. Not only is Sara Bareilles a pretty songbird but she embraces her goofiness and is officially my new favorite person to go hunting for bin candy with.
I caught up with the Brave singer and songwriter at Dylan's Candy Bar at the Original Farmer's Market in LA to talk about her latest album The Blessed Unrest, which debuted on iTunes at No. 1 and on the Billboard Hot 200 at No. 2 selling over 68,000 copies in its first week of release.
The Northern California native, who moved to Los Angeles and studied communications at UCLA, recently relocated to New York City which she says afforded her a new resurgence of creativity and inspiration for the new album.
"I did really want to experience something different. And it creatively sort of formed this record in a really cool way," she says of the move.
As her millions of fans can attest, Sara Bareilles knows how to craft a great song, and the piano pop gems on this record are no exception.
And if her many talents weren't enough, you can add candy connoisseur to that list. To find out Sara's go-to candy and to see me cut a rug with the singer, watch our interview above.
You can catch Sara when she hits the road in September on a co-headlining tour with One Republic. Tickets are on sale now.
