We might see a much grittier version of the young King Arthur in this live-action remake of the 1963 animated classic.
Disney is continuing to reach deeper and deeper into the vault to see what cartoon classic will be the next to get a live-action adaptation.
It looks like the studio is revisiting its 1963 classic The Sword in the Stone, a family-friendly retelling of the legend of King Arthur, as its next live-action reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Sword in the Stone tells the story of a young Arthur who is mentored by the friendly old wizard Merlin, so it only makes sense that Disney would tap Game of Thrones writer-producer Bryan Cogman to pen the script.
Cogman has been nominated for four WGA Awards and is currently working on the screenplay for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering feature. Hopefully we can expect a grittier, darker version of the Arthurian legend than we got in the original Sword in the Stone.
Disney is already developing a slew of other live-action adaptations including Mulan, Dumbo, Pinocchio, The Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh and a prequel to Aladdin, among others. Check out the video below to see some more classics that will soon be re-imagined for a new generation.
