Julia Racks Up Another Prestigious Award
The awards just keep coming for Julia Roberts.
Roberts will receive the Spotlight Award for her work in August: Osage County at the 25th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) in January, it has just been announced.

"Julia Roberts is a consummate actress with a range as vast as her talent," Festival Chairman Harold Matzner said in a statement. "Her ability to consistently give standout performances over the past 25 years is remarkable. In her latest, August: Osage County, she is a key catalyst in a darkly comic tale of a family coming back together after tragedy strikes. To Julia Roberts, one of the best actresses of our age and any other, the Palm Springs International Film Festival is proud to present the Spotlight Award."
Past recipients of the Spotlight Award include Jessica Chastain, Amy Adams and Helen Hunt.
Earlier it was announced that Sandra Bullock (Gravity), Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club) and 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen will also be getting awards at this year's PSIFF.
Bruce Dern will receive the Career Achievement Award.

Presented by Cartier and hosted by Mary Hart, the Awards Gala will be held on January 4, 2014, at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, Calif. The Festival runs from January 3-13, 2014.
