Mark Wahlberg to Star in 'Transformers 4'
Michael Bay has cast Mark Wahlberg in Transformers 4, ET can confirm.
The fourth installment of the Transformers franchise doesn't begin shooting until next spring, but the two have already worked together on the upcoming action comedy Pain and Gain.

"Mark is awesome," Bay says. "We had a blast working on Pain and Gain, and I'm so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers legacy."
The third Transformers film became the 5th highest grossing film of all time, pushing the franchise's total earnings to more than $2.6 billion worldwide.

In Pain, Wahlberg shares the screen with Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie who play three personal trainers in 1990s Miami. The trio get involved in a criminal enterprise on their pursuit for the American Dream, but it's not long before everything goes wrong.
Pain and Gain opens April 26, 2013. Transformers 4 hits theaters June 27, 2014.
