Matt & Jodie's Moment of 'Elysium'
Matt Damon strives to escape a diseased, polluted and overpopulated earth for the utopian, off-world environment of Elysium, and Matt united with co-star Jodie Foster to discuss the much-buzzed-about sci-fi movie at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend -- their first time ever at the Con!

"I think it has a real social relevance," said Jodie about the film. "I think what's nice about it too is it's not a sequel, and it's not a franchise ... it's completely original, it's something new to jump on to. I don't know about you but I get really sick of the sequel thing."
In Elysium, the future planet's wealthiest citizens have constructed the ultimate paradise in space where there's no poverty, illness or war. When Matt attempts to infiltrate the orbiting luxury station, Jodie's anti-immigration official is determined to stop him at all costs.

"I'd never seen anything like it, but it was familiar to me right away," said Matt of the project. "This was the kind of thing where I just said there's no way I'm going to let this get away. I have to be a part of this."
Written and directed by District 9's Neill Blomkamp and co-starring Sharlto Copley, Elysium arrives in theaters next year.
