Liam Hemsworth Enlists with 'Expendables 2'
ET has learned that Liam Hemsworth has joined the rough-and-tumble cast of the highly anticipated sequel to The Expendables.
Sylvester Stallone's first outing rounded up a team of top action heroes that included Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke and Dolph Lundgren, along with a memorable cameo scene featuring Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. All will return for The Expendables 2 with reportedly more "substantial" roles for Bruce and Ah-nuld alongside new expendable-types Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris, with Nicolas Cage and John Travolta rumored to be in talks to enlist.
In addition to his role as Gale in the highly anticipated big-screen version of The Hunger Games, out March 23, Liam's credits include the Nic Cage thriller Knowing and the Miley Cyrus romance The Last Song. His brother is Chris Hemsworth, aka the mighty Thor, who returns next May in the ensemble superhero movie The Avengers.
Directed by Simon West, The Expendables 2 explodes into theaters August, 2012.
