Matthew McConaughey's Eye Is Swollen Shut After Bee Sting

Matthew McConaughey shared a close-up shot of the aftermath of a bee sting.

Matthew McConaughey can manage to be alright, alright, alright after a lot of things -- but he was clearly no match for a bee.

On Wednesday, the Oscar-winning actor took to social media to share a picture, after sustaining a bee sting to the eye.

"bee swell," the 54-year-old wrote.

In the photo, The Little Things actor smiles for the camera, as he shows off his mug, which is red from a tan, and gives his followers a look at his eye that is swollen shut. McConaughey didn't give any further details about the incident, but it looks like he's taking it all in stride.

Fans are having a laugh too, with many taking to the comments to leave bee emojis, some sending well-wishes and others getting in on the pun.

"Matthew McConaubee 👀," one user wrote.

"You should bee careful," another added.

"Oh dear. I hope you alright alright alright!," another wrote.

McConaughey's family, which includes wife, Camila Alves, and their three children, Levi, 16, Vida, 14, and Livingston, 11, are no strangers to getting back up after an injury.

In March 2023, the Dallas Buyers Club star took to Instagram to give the world a look at his son Levi's back following a surfing incident

"Surf souvenirs," he captioned the photo of Levi showing off the bandages on his back while holding onto a lime green surfboard.

In March, McConaughey opened up about his family relocating from Malibu, California, to his home state of Texas, where he believes his kids are getting a close to normal life.

"Ritual," McConaughey told Southern Living magazine. "Ritual came back, whether that was Sunday church, sports, dinner together as a family every night, or staying up after that telling stories in the kitchen, sitting at the island pouring drinks and nibbling while retelling them all in different ways than we told them before."
