Amid ongoing relationship turbulence between Married at First Sight's Emily and Brennan, the pair decided to go riding quad bikes through the forest -- and things went south in a way neither of them could have predicted.
In this exclusive sneak peek from Wednesday's new episode of Married at First Sight, Brennan is driving in the lead, with Emily following close behind, while they travel over bumpy, winding dirt paths through the snowy hills.
Emily and Brennan both smile and yell excitedly as they tear over the paths, until something throws Emily off course and suddenly her bike flips in a dramatic crash.
Brennan and the camera crew come to a screeching halt and race back to check on Emily, only to discover her face covered in blood from a sizable head wound.
The crew call for emergency services as Brennan staunches the blooding as best he can, and holds Emily's hand supportively as they wait for paramedics to arrive.
"Am I going to be OK?" Emily asks, as she tries to stay calm.
"You're gonna to be alright," Brennan assures her, as he grips her hand and holds a compress against her head wound.
The shocking accident was teased during the show's midseason trailer, and proves to be a genuinely shocking and frightening moment -- and could prove to be a turning point for Emily and Brennan's strained romance.
This season has seen Emily and Brennan try to make their marriage work, despite clashing consistently. Earlier this season, the pair bumped heads during a session with Dr. Pia, where Brennan admitted he was "blindsided" by Emily's feelings, and last week, Emily admitted that she wasn't sure of their future together.
