Wayans is father to three children: Kai and Shawn, with ex Angela Zachary, and Axl with Moreland.
Marlon Wayans is speaking out after his ex, Brittany Moreland, filed for full custody of their 1-year-old daughter. On Thursday, the comedian, 51, responded to Moreland's legal filings in an exclusive interview with The Shade Room.
The actor has two children, Kai, 23, and Shawn, 21, with his ex, Angelica Zachary, as well as daughter Axl, whom he and Moreland welcomed in 2022. Wayans signed a voluntary declaration of parentage on Dec. 13, 2022, just one day after the baby girl's birth.
"All love, all God. The baby isn't a secret. The mama has been posted. But I chose to keep the baby's private life private," he said. "Ain't nobody's business. Social media is toxic and dangerous, and I'd like to keep her peace."
However, Wayans said that he didn't like being named as a "visitor" to his daughter.
"It's the classic case of a good, loving, responsible father shelling out over $18K per month for a 1-year-old, and an entitled woman decides she wants more," Wayans told the outlet. "My mama and dem would've lost their minds for $2K."
"Do you pay all that money per month and be called a 'visitor'? Do the math. This is delusional. I will let the lawyers and God do what they do," he continued. "I'll be creating art from a broken heart. I got nothing but love. Even when it's bad, it's good...it's GOD."
According to court documents obtained by ET, Moreland, 34, filed a petition to determine a paternal relationship with Wayans in the state of California. Moreland is seeking legal and physical custody of Axl, but asks that the actor receive visitation rights.
Moreland, who is listed as an "unemployed graduate student" in California, is also petitioning for Wayans to cover "reasonable expenses of pregnancy and birth" and attorney and legal fees. In an income and expense declaration, she listed $22,080 in estimated monthly expenses and proposed needs.
"I've had two children before this. I've never had this problem," Wayans lamented to The Shade Room about Moreland's filing. "I'm a good man with a good heart and strong sense of responsibility, but I refuse to be used and discredited."
