The 'Glee' actor's autopsy revealed that he had alcohol in his system at the time of his death, but no traces of drugs were discovered.
Mark Salling's autopsy revealed that the Glee star had alcohol in his system when he died on Jan. 30.
According to a toxicology report obtained by ET, no drugs or narcotics were found in the actor's body. However laboratory analysis discovered he had a blood alcohol level of between 0.08 and 0.096 percent. The legal driving limit in California is 0.08 percent.
Salling's cause of death, as previously reported, was determined to be "asphyxia due to hanging," and the manner of his death was ruled to be suicide. He was 35.
On the morning of Jan. 30, Salling's body was discovered in a riverbed in the Tujunga neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles County. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No suicide note was found.
According to the coroner's investigation report, Salling was "last known to be alive" while watching television with his father at his home in Sunland, California. At around midnight, the actor's mother "woke up and noticed [Salling] and his vehicle were gone."
The actor was under house arrest at the time and his tracking device was discovered by his roommate "down the street from the residence." The Los Angeles Police Department were notified and they subsequently issued a missing person report.
The report also noted that Salling had previously made an attempt on his own life last August, and was hospitalized for a month as a result.
Before he died, Salling was awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography. His formal sentencing has been set for March 7.
The terms of his plea agreement stated that Salling could have served four to seven years behind bars followed by up to 20 years of supervised release with conditions decided by the court. Salling would have also had to register as a sex offender and participate in psychological counseling and/or enroll in a treatment program.
The case was dismissed after Salling's death.
A source told ET in January that the actor had "distanced himself very much from the friends he was closest to," and that, before Salling's child pornography arrest on Dec. 29, 2015, "he would often have friends over to his home in Sunland."
"He was himself the most when he was at home. In fact, he had a bird sanctuary in his backyard where he rescued birds then rehabilitated them," the source recalled. "He was very proud of that."
