Twitter immediately erupted with quips and gifs in response to Carey inquiring about her tea, with one tweet reading: "No matter how bad your 2017 was, always remember: You weren’t the one who misplaced Mariah Carey’s tea."
Thankfully, Carey did eventually get her hot beverage and shared a photo of herself backstage with it. "Found my tea!" she captioned the pic on Instagram.
This was also a big night for Carey's 6-year-old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, who celebrated their first New Year's Eve in Times Square with their mother. "Roc & Roe's first Rockin' Eve in Times Square!!! #NYC #HomeTown #ILoveYou," Carey wrote on Instagram alongside a video of herself and her kids counting down to midnight.
The singer's return to the stage on New Year's Eve comes after her performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest a year ago was plagued with technical difficulties.
In lead-up to her performance, Carey cleverly tweeted: "Take 2."
Thankfully, all the kinks appeared to be worked out this time around, and despite the frigid weather, Carey put on a great show!
