Maren Morris Reveals Sweet Off-Script Moment During Performance With Ryan Hurd at CMT Awards

Morris shared the sweet message Hurd mouthed to her during their CMT Music Awards performance Monday night.

Maren Morris is sharing a sweet off-script moment from her CMT Music Awards performance with her husband, Ryan Hurd. The pair was singing their hit, "I Can't Love You Anymore," when Hurd gave his wife some sweet words of affirmation.

While singing the line, "And you like me even when I've been a b***h," Hurd, who was strumming along on the guitar, looked to Morris and mouthed: "you’re not a b***h, baby."

Morris shared the clip on Instagram, where she revealed that Hurd's adorable ad-lib nearly made her miss her next lyric.

"For the record, @ryanhurd said 'you’re not a b***h, baby' which made me laugh and almost miss my next lyric. 💕😂," Morris captioned the post before playing off of the lyrics in their duet to deliver a message of her own to Hurd. "I truly can’t love you anymore than I do now."

The "Circles Around This Town" singer spoke with ET at the 2022 CMT Music Awards red carpet Monday night ahead of their performance, where she gave some backstory about the hit track.

"We are performing our new song off my new record, it's called, 'Can't Love You Anymore,' and it's just a real love song, but it's funny and I'm so excited. It's my first time performing it live," she said.

The song, Morris shared, tells the story of their relationship, or as she called it, their "weird ass love story."

"It's easy. We've been together so long, we have a son that's two now so, we have our moments for sure that aren't rainbows and sunshine, but we just laugh our way through it because we know we are gonna be in this till the end, and we better get it together," Morris added of their relationship.

"And the song is exactly that," she added. "It's narrating our weird ass love story."

While it hasn't been easy navigating their relationship in the limelight, Morris said she feels like she's hit the jackpot with her marriage to Hurd.

"We've had years where it's been hard, and we are still trying to find that -- I think we are better now at finding the balance of home time and work time," Morris shared of her and Hurd, who share 2-year-old son Hayes. "We are better at standing our ground on our personal life than we used to be, because I think we earned it now, but no, we have our struggles, but I think that we love each other. I will always support his dream, his songwriter dream and vice versa."

She continued, "And so I know we can kinda make it through anything, because this is a tough industry to stay married in and even find love in so, I feel like -- we hit the jackpot, so everything else is, like, clear skies."
