Maksim Chmerkovskiy is getting ready to welcome his third child with wife Peta Murgatroyd, who is ready to give birth any day now.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is out and about, but don't be mistaken, he's ready to bolt whenever he gets the call from his pregnant wife, Peta Murgatroyd.
The 44-year-old former Dancing With the Stars pro star hit the red carpet Thursday night for the 2024 ESPY Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, where he laid out the plan should Murgatroyd call him at a moment's notice. Murgatroyd, 37, of course, is pregnant with the couple's third child, and she could give birth any day now.
"I'm on call," Chmerkovskiy shared with ET's Denny Directo.
Chmerkovskiy added that if he gets two calls in a row, that's his cue. He joked that if someone's giving a speech inside Dolby Theatre when he gets the call, he'll crawl out and call his wife back once he's settled in the car and headed her way.
Whatever the case, Chmerkovskiy reflected on how his and Murgatroyd's lives have evolved over the years as they get ready to become a family of five.
"I had a period of time when I was young and single, now I have a period of time where it's Peta and I just multiplying," he shared. "Peta and I never really had our own time, you know. We kind of ran right at it. But we're not upset. Our life is incredible."
The couple, who celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary earlier this month, are also parents to 7-year-old son Shai and 11-month-old son Rio. And, yes, they're going to have another son. The couple shared the news back in March.
"It's a …….BOY! 🩵🩵🩵," Murgatroyd wrote alongside an Instagram video. "I've been quietly preparing myself to be a real-life wolf pack Mumma with our THIRD baby boy on the way 🙏🏻🤣💙 I CANNOT BELIEVE WE WILL HAVE 3 BOYS!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣."
"Maks and I are beyond happy to have another buddy for Shai and Rio…we want them to be the best of friends and thinking about family dinners already makes us laugh!" she continued. "Not to mention when Rio turns 1 , I will give birth to this bundle of joy a couple of weeks later 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 LET THE GAMES BEGIN …."
Between now and baby No. 3's arrival, Chmerkovskiy has been spending some quality time and making memories with Shai. Back in May, Shai tagged along with dad for the world premiere of The Garfield Movie.
"I mean, it's always a dad opportunity. If I'm not gonna be away and if I'm at home, I don't justify not spending my every waking moment with him," Chmerkovskiy previously told ET. "Because then it's easier for me to go and do my stuff [too]."
He added, "I'm taking the opportunity that Peta's pregnant and can't do these things to pile on points," Chmerkovskiy said of taking Shai to the red carpet premiere. "Because at some point, it's an uneven game. [And] I want to be ingrained in their core memory, [and go,] 'This is what we did with dad.'"
