The happy couple, who are already parents to a 2-year-old daughter, will welcome their second child in August.
The LOCASH family is growing once again!
Singer-songwriter Preston Brust and his wife, Kristen, announced on Thursday that they are expecting their second child. The new bundle of joy will arrive in August, and the happy couple shared the good news by posting a stunning photo of themselves with 2-year-old daughter Love Lily.
"With full hearts, we're excited to announce we have a new roommate movin' in this #August! #AugustBaby #ItsALeo," they wrote.
Kristen shared the same photo on her own Instagram page, along with sweet photos of Preston rubbing her baby bump.
"You are so,so cherished & it is an honor to carry you," she captioned the first pic. "Our sweetest rainbow baby, our prayers have been for forty toe nights. little lion heart, you are a gift. a new level of leo season in our house starts in August.
we love you the most of mosts."
A second snap showed Kristen's bare baby bump and was accompanied by a lengthy caption, explaining why the couple is so excited for baby No. 2.
"A lion in heaven. now, a lion for earth. ? we’ve stayed private a long time. this baby is different. our lion of God indeed. every heartbeat heard, both glimpses of its sweet face have been a soul relieving. it’s hard to describe what ‘cautiously excited’ feels like. some of you know exactly what i am saying. and everything i am not," she wrote. "I also know there are a community of stunning souls that do not know life after death. as much as i can carry, love, honor, cherish this experience on behalf of your gorgeous hearts, i am doing just that. your story is huge part of my heart now. knowing rainbows find people differently is something i am in wonder of daily. i hope you know you are a piece of my heart ••• both of my hearts. you are my Ones. you are the light and healing to me. and every story is different but still the common thread is the same. bravery and love."
The happy news follows heartbreak that came last year, when the Brusts suffered a miscarriage, which is what Kristen appears to be referring to in the second post. In a blog post shared last December, Kristen revealed that they lost their baby in January 2017 at 12 weeks.
"I am positive, i laugh. i count my blessings. i am beyond thankful for our daughter. she was our first try pregnancy that became an incredible piece of our life. she is everything. she has shaped me," she explained in her blog, which she said she wrote after the miscarriage. "But i can’t help but hurt for myself and for everyone of you reading this that know those tender horrific moments so intimately. or those that have watched someone you love lose in such a tremendous way."
Though nothing can take away that pain, Kristen and Preston are proud parents to Love and looking forward to the next chapter, sharing that their daughter is looking forward to her "big sister promotion."
LOCASH is a country duo that includes Preston, who's originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, and his fellow singer-songwriter, Chris Lucas, who hails from Baltimore, Maryland.
