Lenny Kravitz opens up about the relationship and upcoming marriage between his daughter, Zoë, and her fiancé, Channing Tatum.
Lenny Kravitz has nothing but good things to say about his future son-in-law, Channing Tatum!
The proud papa gushed about daughter Zoë Kravitz's fiancé during a recent appearance on the Zoë Ball and Friends podcast, where he opened up about how well Channing, 44, has fit in with the family since he and Zoë, 35, got serious.
ET confirmed last October that Zoë and Channing had quietly gotten engaged more than two years after first sparking romance rumors. The pair met while working on Zoë's directorial debut, Blink Twice, in 2021.
"He's a really great guy," the 60-year-old singer said of Channing on the latest episode of the podcast. "He was raised well. So, you know, he's got manners. He's charming. He's a soulful human being. And so, he's become part of the family quite quickly."
"He fits and they're in love. We're going to have a wedding next year," the rocker added.
Lenny has been vocal with his support for Zoë and Channing's relationship, as well as his excitement for the couple's big day. When the Blue Electric Light artist spoke with ET on the carpet of the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival in January, he said that he was over the moon when it comes to his daughter's engagement to the 21 Jump Street actor.
"Hey man, that's life," Lenny gushed. "When your family is happy, when your child is happy, that's it -- I've done well. Blessed."
Lenny was married to Zoë's mother, actress Lisa Bonet, from 1987 to 1993. The Big Little Lies actress is the couple's only child, although Lisa went on to have two more children during her marriage to Aquaman actor Jason Momoa, which ended in 2022.
Lenny went on to say that it's special moments and celebrations like the engagement of his only child that make him feel "blessed," as he looked back ahead of his 60th birthday.
"For me, I don't think about numbers and time," he said. "I feel better than I ever have felt. Mentally, spiritually, physically... and so I'm glad I'm still here, man, let me tell you."
In March, a source told ET that Zoë and Channing are flying high and supporting one another as they enjoy their engagement.
"Channing and Zoe are doing fantastic and could not be more in love," the source shared. "They’re so thrilled about their engagement and to be taking this next step together."
Although the pair has remained largely private about their romance, they have spoken about each other in interviews, with Channing even being outed for adorably following numerous Instagram fan accounts for Zoë.
"I have no chill," he told Vanity Fair in January of following the accounts. "I was just seeing what she was up to! Also, I didn’t know anyone would know."
Channing confessed that he is trying to be more chill these days so he "can actually experience these moments, instead of just trying to change it or something, or being afraid that it’s not going to work out how I wanted or something."
He admitted, "Relationships are hard for me. Even though I am a bit of a monogamist. In business, I have no real fear of anything being destroyed. But heart things, when it comes to people I love, I have a really hard time. I end up trying too hard, you know?"
Zoë's romance with Channing is her first since her public split from ex-husband Karl Glusman. The two ended their relationship after 18 months of marriage in 2021.
Channing was previously married to his Step Up co-star, Jenna Dewan, from 2009 to 2019, and they share daughter Everly, 11.
