The superstar loved the high school performance by the 'Bodak Yellow' rapper.
Cardi B is about to destroy the charts with her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, but a much older performance is getting the thumbs-up from Lady Gaga.
On Tuesday, Gaga retweeted a throwback video on Twitter of a much younger Cardi B doing a high school performance of Gaga's "Bad Romance." And what a performance!
Cardi, who was then likely known by her birth name, Belcalis Almanzar, can be seen writhing on the floor, surrounded by backup dancers in some creative poses, and giving it her all for her high school classmates. It was enough to impress Gaga, who gave the performance her seal of approval.
"I LIVE @iamcardib ?❤️?," the singer captioned her retweet.
It's quite the recommendation, but, then again, Cardi B has been slaying it lately.
Invasion of Privacy is set to debut No.1 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart on April 21. The rapper also recently announced her pregnancy in the most epic way -- via live performance on Saturday Night Live. And she's fresh off a successful (and hilarious) stint as co-host of The Tonight Show alongside Jimmy Fallon.
And if you needed any other evidence that Cardi B has arrived, here it is: She's big enough to get in a legit beef with Nicki Minaj.
In an interview on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show on Thursday, Minaj said that prior to a recent Cardi interview, the 25-year-old "Bodak Yellow" rapper had never shown her "genuine love." She also dove deeper into the drama that brewed between them when both artists appeared on the hit Migos track "MotorSport," alongside Cardi's fiance, Offset.
