Kylie Jenner turned heads at the 2024 Met Gala.
The 2024 Met Gala was lucky number seven for Kylie Jenner!
The reality star and famed Kardashian-Jenner sister stepped out at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the signature event of the first Monday in May: the highly anticipated Met Gala.
Kylie's moment was a dramatic take on the theme, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," as she wore a custom ivory gown -- by Oscar De La Renta -- reminiscent of a princess. The Kardashians star wore her tresses in a sleek bun, and let her shoulders do the talking in the halter-cut look.
In the back, the Kylie Cosmetics founder was followed by her elegant train. Kylie kept her lips and blush a subtle posh pink.
As we mentioned, this is far from Kylie's first time at the star-studded soirée. She's attend six previous times, including her 2016 debut in glittering Balmain. While the Kylie Cosmetics founder was not a mom of two nor the entrepreneur she is known as today at the time she first attended the ball, she was well on her way to mogul status. In fact, she had launched her famed lip kits a mere five months prior.
"This is my first ball," she excitedly told the late André Leon Talley once she made her way to the top of the steps. As for what she was looking forward to that night, the then-18-year-old told Talley, "See what everyone's wearing."
Last year, she pulled off a bit of a transformation on the Met Gala steps when she dropped her baby blue coat to reveal it was the train of her red Jean Paul Gaultier gown. In accordance with that year's theme "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," Kylie and her team drew inspiration from the '90s Chanel runway for her tousled updo.
This year's theme is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." Describing the associated exhibition, the Metropolitan Museum of Art states on its website, "Approximately 250 garments and accessories spanning four centuries will be on view, visually united by iconography related to nature, which will serve as a metaphor for the fragility and ephemerality of fashion and a vehicle to examine the cyclical themes of rebirth and renewal."
The year's co-chairs include Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny. Jonathan Anderson, creative director of LOEWE, and Shou Chew, TikTok's CEO, are honorary co-chairs.
