The ‘Downsizing’ star sits down with James Lipton for a look back at her career so far on an all-new episode, airing Thursday on Bravo.
Kristen Wiig may have retired from Saturday Night Live, but she hasn’t retired all of her characters from the sketch show.
The Downsizing star resurrects her famous Weekend Update movie critic, Aunt Linda, during her sit-down with James Lipton on Inside the Actors Studio. Naturally, Linda needs a movie to critique, and what better film than the one called “the greatest movie of all time,” Citizen Kane?
“I’d like to call it Citizen Kane... I get back the last three hours of my life?” Wiig starts, in Linda’s signature, exaggerated accent. “Why can’t they add a little color? If they’re gonna make me sit there for that long? Everything’s gray?!”
Check out the full bit -- spoilers included -- below. It leaves Lipton in tears!
The special dives into more than just Wiig’s catalog of characters. She’ll also be spilling behind-the-scenes secrets from her time at SNL, revealing trivia from the Bridesmaids set and, of course, answering Lipton’s signature questionnaire.
ET caught up with Wiig at the Downsizing premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night, where she admitted taping the interview was a bigger deal than she had anticipated.
“It’s longer than I thought!” she said. “It's like hours and hours, but it was unlike anything I've ever done. I mean, James Lipton! I mean, I've watched the show for years and I'm so honored that he even thought to have me on the show ... I'm very excited.”
Check out the full episode of Inside the Actors Studio on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. For more from Wiig, check out the links and video below.
