Robert died in September 2003, two months after he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
Kim Kardashian spent her Saturday night remembering her late father, Robert Kardashian, by sharing rare footage of her dad with her followers.
In a series of Instagram Stories, the SKIMS founder, 43, showed off home footage of her father, edited together to include photos and clips of the famed lawyer throughout his life.
"My dad was a cutie," Kim wrote in the first story, zooming in on the TV in what appears to be her bedroom.
One photo shows Robert in a classic vehicle while another shows the lawyer in his youth, sitting for a picture in a suit jacket and tie. The final video comes from a bustling party where the patriarch of the iconic family stands next to his then-wife, Kris Jenner, while chatting with friends.
Robert died at the age of 59 in September 2003, two months after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer. At the time of his death, Kim was 22, Khloe Kardashian was 19, Kourtney Kardashian was 24 and Robert Kardashian Jr. was 16.
The lawyer gained infamy for acting as a volunteer assistant to his friend, O.J. Simpson, as he was put on trial for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. Robert and O.J. met while studying at the University of Southern California and the 1968 Heisman Trophy winner acted as Robert's best man during his wedding to Kris.
In 2022, Kim posted a touching touching tribute to her dad on the 19th anniversary of his death.
At the time, the mogul posted a series of photos and video throwbacks of her father. Some of the photos included a handwritten note Kim said she relished when she was a kid. One of the handwritten notes from Robert read, "Kim - I'm at Lawry's for Uncle Larry's birthday. I have my pager. I'll be home around 10 or 11. I love you," and he signed it "daddy."
Kim wrote in that Story just how much she missed coming home to those notes.
"19 years ago my daddy passed away," she wrote. "I miss coming home to these notes that I could hardly read w[ith] his lefty handwriting. I love you so much dad I can always feel you."
In another Instagram Story, Kim shared one of the many Father's Day cards she wrote him, like the one in 2002. She said "he saved every card I wrote him."
There was also a card she wrote as a child, which she signed, "Kimberly."
