Kim Kardashian is a proud daughter.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and her mom, Kris Jenner, among other family members were in attendance at the opening of UCLA’s Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health named after her late father, Robert Karadshian, in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
"We are at the opening ceremony for the Robert G. Kardashian esophageal cancer health center at UCLA. We just did the ribbon cutting," Kardashian said in a video posted on Twitter. "We’re going to take a picture with all the doctors and everyone that will be helping and educating."
Jenner then chimed in adding that it was "so exciting," with Kardashian saying, "We’re all here. My whole dad’s side of the family came to support."
The attorney and businessman died in 2003 at age 59 after a battle with esophageal cancer. The Kardashians frequently pay tribute and honor their patriarch on his birthday and death anniversary, always keeping him close to their heart.
The UCLA Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health will provide resources for groundbreaking research, patient care and education and training in addition to support efforts in esophageal health, according to Kardashian who retweeted information about the center. "The naming of the center and it's dedicated specialty services will assist in advancing UCLA’s position at the forefront of the world for the study and treatment of esophageal and other disorders, improving the quality of life for countless patients and their families. The center will deal with all esophageal and motility issues at UCLA: cancer, benign conditions like reflux, precision health to hopefully prevent cancer, research, education and wellness."
During a 2017 episode of KUTWK, Rob Kardashian looked back at his relationship with his late father as he prepared for fatherhood himself. "I want our baby to grow up with the same Armenian values that dad taught us," Rob told his sister, Khloe Kardashian.
Speaking in a solo interview, Rob explained that he wanted to reconnect with his sisters before welcoming a new life into the world.
"I was the only one who was living with my dad when he died and I’m not close to the rest of my family because of my insecurities," Rob admitted. "I want to change that because I especially miss Khloe."
Rob later told his closest sister, "I just want to get back to socializing and having family fun like we used to when dad was alive."
