The actress shared that 'it's hard' to get the cast together.
The Grey's Anatomy cast is back together! On Sunday, the beloved doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial reunited at the 75th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
Ahead of taking the stage at the ceremony, Katherine Heigl -- who famously played Dr. Izzie Stevens on the long-running medical drama -- shared her reaction to the group's reunion while speaking to ET's Kevin Frazier on the red carpet.
"It's hard," she admits of getting the cast together. "I came in from Utah Sunday and then came here and did a rehearsal with them."
Heigl, 45, revealed she hadn't seen Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. since "I left 15 years ago." She adds, "I haven't seen Justin [Chambers] in 10 years, so it was so like, sounds so cheesy but heartwarming." However, she did link up with Ellen Pompeo last year and they participated inVariety's "Actors on Actors" series.
Given that it's been nearly 19 years since Grey's Anatomy premiered, Heigl admitted that it's "really wild" to her when she meets fans of the show who are 19 years old. "You're like, 'How old are you? How do you even know this show?'" Heigl exclaimed. "Everybody's sort of streaming it on Netflix, I think."
Grey's Anatomy alums Heigl, Chambers, Pompeo, Pickens Jr., and Wilson are all set to take the stage at Monday night's Emmys to present one of the night's major categories.
The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, originally set to take place last September, was postponed due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. Hosted by Anthony Anderson at L.A. Live's Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the ceremony will air live Monday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. PT, 8 p.m. ET on Fox, and will be streamed Tuesday, Jan. 16 on Hulu.
