The royal couple drove from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in London on Monday morning before 6 a.m. local time.
"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London earlier this morning in the early stages of labor," Kensington Palace announced in a statement.
The proud parents welcomed son, Prince George, in 2013 and daughter, Princess Charlotte, in 2015.
The couple announced they were expecting last September, revealing that Kate was once again suffering from acute morning sickness, Hyperemesis Gravidarum. After missing several events, including Prince George's first day of school, the Duchess appeared to be in good health for the remainder of her pregnancy.
Prior to the new baby's arrival, the royal couple has been keeping busy, making a series of public appearances throughout England. They returned from their last international trip in early February following the Royal Tour of Norway and Sweden. Kate attended her final public engagement on March 22 in London with William by her side.
William has been keeping busy, attending Queen Elizabeth's 92nd birthday celebration over the weekend.
The gender of the couple's third child is unknown, though many have speculated it could be a boy due to Kate's often-blue maternity wear and William's recently slip of the tongue.
