There's one rule the 'Chappaquidick' actress says she and husband Jamie Bell never break.
Kate Mara is no rule-breaker -- at least not when it comes to her marriage.
The 35-year-old actress opened up on her relationship with new husband Jamie Bell -- they wed last year -- in an interview in the May issue of Shape magazine.
“I love knowing that I have a partner for life. I feel very proud to call Jamie my husband and to have made that commitment to him," she told the magazine.
But being married to a fellow actor -- Mara and Bell met on the set of Fantastic Four -- has its downsides when it involves long periods of separation.
“All the traveling we both have to do for work can make it hard," the House of Cards alum said. "But we have a rule that we will never go longer than two weeks without seeing each other. Even if we have to spend all day traveling to have just 24 hours together, it’s worth it in order to have a strong relationship.”
ET caught up with the actress earlier this month to chat about her role in the political drama Chappaquiddick. The movie dramatically retells the story of the 1969 car accident involving the late Ted Kennedy, who went on to become a senator, and Mary Jo Kopechne, who died in the crash.
“It was a story that was largely swept under the rug when it happened, and she was not painted in the greatest light with the media,” Mara told ET. “I think that it’s important we show who she was.”
