Justin Timberlake Is Opening a Bar With Tiger Woods in Scotland

Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods will convert an old cinema into a state-of-the-art bar in St. Andrews.

Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods are going into business together again, and this time it's in Scotland.

The duo, who are shareholders in a real estate company dubbed Nexus Luxury Collection, were given the green light to convert an old cinema into a state-of-the-art sports bar in St. Andrews. The sports bar, T-Squared Social, will take over New Picture House Cinema. Much like its counterpart in New York City, T-Squared Social in St. Andrews will feature golf simulators, duckpin bowling and darts.

The old cinema won't completely go away, as the new venture will keep two cinema screens. The owners of the establishment are reportedly all for the conversion, stating that the venue is currently running at under 10 percent occupancy and there was no way the cinema could stay in business at that rate. The movie theater opened its doors in 1930 and seats 700 people. Following the approval of the project, work must get underway within the next three years.

St. Andrews holds a special place for both Timberlake and Woods. Timberlake, not just an avid golfer but one who can hold his own against the best of them, has previously played in St. Andrews, home to The Old Course. The iconic course is known as "the home of golf" after its establishment in 1552.

As for Woods, he grew emotional playing at The Open Championship (also known as The British Open) in July 2022, in what he said would likely mark his last appearance there as a professional golfer. The 15-time major champion wiped away tears as he walked down the 18th fairway at The Old Course, prompting a packed crowd in the grandstand to roar and give the legendary golfer a five-minute standing ovation.

As for why it's possibly the last time Woods played at the iconic course, The Open Championship rotates its venues each year, and the next time The Open Championship circles back to St. Andrews won't be until 2027, at the earliest. By then, Woods will be 51. So, essentially, Woods bid farewell to St. Andrews at The Open Championship in 2022, when it celebrated its 150th anniversary.

T-Squared Social is not the only a joint venture for Timberlake and Woods, who first bonded in 2018 over fatherhood and their love of golf. Their real estate company previously redeveloped old condos and converted them into luxury residences in the Bahamas. It was there, after a round of golf, when the duo said they decided to do "more together in a business that builds upon their passions."

The green light to open a bar in Scotland comes less than a month after Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, and charged with a DWI. He broke his silence on the arrest at his next concert in Chicago, saying, "It's been a tough week." Shortly after, Timberlake took a stroll to his golf lesson in New York City following his two performances at Madison Square Garden.

Then, in Boston, Timberlake joked about his arrest during his Forget Tomorrow World Tour concert at TD Garden.

In a clip shared across social media, the 43-year-old "Selfish" singer stood on stage and addressed the crowd, quipping, "So uhhh, is there anyone here tonight that is driving? No, I'm just kidding."

A source had previously told ET that "Justin is feeling remorseful, ashamed, and humiliated, but also accountable."

The source added that Timberlake "does not believe he needs help when it comes to alcohol," instead viewing the incident as a "major lapse of judgement."

"This situation has taken a toll on him, but he is trying to view it as a way that he can reset himself," the source continued. "He does his best to set a positive example for himself, Jess, his family and the public, and will continue to try to learn and grow. He is taking this seriously and recognizes how it can impact his family dynamic as a husband and father, and his fans too."
