The New Pope is already looking pretty wild.
On Monday, Jude Law filmed a scene on a beach in Venice, strutting his stuff in nothing but a pair of white underwear flanked by women in bikinis throwing volleyballs in the air. Clearly, the 46-year-old actor has been keeping up with his fitness by the looks of his toned physique.
The New Pope is a follow-up to 2016's hit limited HBO series The Young Pope, which starred Law as Pope Pius XIIII, a young, American pope who takes the Catholic church in a radical direction. John Malkovich is also starring in the upcoming series opposite Law, though his role is still unknown.
In January 2017, Law talked to CBS This Morning about the challenges of the role.
"Where do you start working or researching how to play a pope? And Paolo, the wonderful director Paolo Sorrentino, pointed me always back to playing the man, Lenny Belardo," he said. "I always felt that on the one hand, I'm playing Lenny Belardo, the orphan who is trying to come to terms with his sense of never being loved, and on the other hand, he's Pope Pius XIII and how he then channels those issues into leading the Catholic faithful."
ET recently spoke to Law about another big role -- playing Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel. Watch the video below for more:
