Joseph Duggar is going to be a first-time father!
The 22-year-old Counting On star and his wife, Kendra Caldwell, announced in a video message on Monday that they are expecting their first child.
“I’ve always dreamed of having my own family and it’s really just kind of surreal that it’s actually here,” Joseph gushed. “I kind of think it’s going to be a boy, but either way, I’m happy just to have a baby.”
“I think it could be a girl,” Kendra, 19, chimed in. “You never know!”
The couple also hopes that their baby-to-be gets some of their attributes. Joseph says he wants their child to have Kendra's laugh, while she wants their bundle of joy to be "patient like Joe."
It's been a big year for Joseph and Kendra. After a three-month engagement, the two were married in September in Arkansas. "We are truly blessed and look forward to our new life and journey together," the newlyweds said in a statement shared on the Duggar family's website. "We are thankful for how the Lord has brought us together, and look forward to serving Christ now as husband and wife."
Joseph and Kendra met through church and began their courtship in March. In May, Duggar proposed on the same night his older sister, Joy-Anna, married Austin Forsyth.
