The 54-year-old actor is expecting his first child with fiancee, Caitlin McHugh.
John Stamos hopes to make his late father, Bill, proud.
The 54-year-old Full House star, who is expecting his first child with fiancee Caitlin McHugh, shared an emotional Instagram post, dedicated to his "hero."
"I will certainly fall short of the father my pop was, but - I’m going to give it my all! #Balance #BillStamos #Hero," Stamos wrote alongside a black-and-white throwback photo of his father holding him up as a baby.
The actor's father died 19 years ago in 1998, and his mother, Loretta, passed away in 2014.
Earlier this week, Stamos revealed that McHugh is pregnant with their first child together. The baby is due in the spring of 2018.
Stamos has always been vocal about wanting to be a dad, telling ET last month that he always hoped to have kids.
"That's always been my plan. It's just taken me a lot longer than I anticipated," he shared. "It would be a tragedy if I didn't have children and I finally found the right woman -- the perfect woman."
"I know my parents are smiling down. I know they would love her," Stamos gushed about his bride-to-be. "She's a gentle, kind, graceful soul who would be a good mother."
Stamos and McHugh started dating in early 2016 and got engaged at Disneyland in October.
