Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow turned up to training camp sporting a 'Shady' new look this week.
It's training camp time for NFL players, and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow certainly raised some eyebrows on day one.
Like his AFC rival Travis Kelce, Burrow turned up to camp sporting a brand-new look. Instead of his usual flowing locks, the 27-year-old fourth-year QB was rocking a bleached buzz cut that had many calling out the resemblance to rapper Eminem.
Even the Bengals social team got in on the jokes with several posts on X (formerly Twitter) poking fun at the new look.
"Guess who's back," they captioned a pic of Burrow arriving for the first day of camp at Cincinnati's Kettering Health practice fields on Tuesday, later modifying Burrow's "Joe Shiesty" nickname to now dub him "Slim Shiesty."
In a post-practice press conference, Burrow joked that he and Bengals defensive tackle B.J. Hill had made a deal about his new style.
"B.J. said that if I buzzed it and bleached it that he would do it, too. So now everybody's gotta hold him accountable," he laughed.
A new look may be just what the QB needs to bounce back this season. Waylaid by injuries, Burrow missed the end of the 2023-34 NFL season, losing out on a chance to rematch against Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs after a narrow loss in the 2023 AFC Championship game.
