The 'Fuller House' star will appear in one of 40 original holiday films the network is producing this year.
Jodie Sweetin is getting in the Christmas spirit.
The Fuller House star and Hallmark favorite will star in her third holiday film for the network, this one tentatively titled Merry & Bright, ET has exclusively learned.
Sweetin, who previously led 2017's Finding Santa and 2018's Entertaining Christmas, will star alongside another Hallmark regular, Andrew Walker, who will play her love interest.
The upcoming film kicks off when Cate (Sweetin), CEO of the Merry & Bright Candy Cane Company, meets Gabe (Walker) during the busy Christmas season. She assumes Gabe is the suitor her well-meaning mother is trying to set her up with when in reality, he works for Empire Corporate Recovery, which has been hired to take a closer look at Merry & Bright's operation and find ways to make the company more profitable. As Cate and Gabe begin to work together, they find ways to elevate the business and find that they have more in common than savvy business sense.
Hallmark is knee-deep in lining up its original holiday movies this year, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary of Countdown to Christmas. Earlier this year, Hallmark banked its first Christmas film, The Christmas Song, starring Kristin Chenoweth and Scott Wolf; has cast Legacies star Matthew Davis in another; and is reuniting One Tree Hill's Chad Michael Murray and Torrey DeVitto in a third movie, which has a To All the Boys I've Loved Before twist. While 2018 saw a record-breaking 38 Christmas movies, Hallmark will top that with 40 this year.
“More than 115 million viewers in the past two years have seen ‘Countdown to Christmas’ programming and many have made the event a tradition in their homes,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive VP of Programming and Network Publicity at Crown Media Family Networks. “The 10th anniversary of ‘Countdown to Christmas’ will bring even more high-quality, holiday content and bring world renowned talent because while there are many imitators, there is still only one, the original and the best, ‘Countdown to Christmas.'"
