Jill Duggar Pens Emotional Message to Stillborn Daughter Isla Marie One Week After Funeral

Jill Duggar Dillard shared the news that her daughter was stillborn at four months in mid-April.

Jill Duggar Dillard is continuing to publicly share her grief. The 32-year-old former reality star took to her Instagram to post a message for her late child, a baby girl named Isla Marie Dillard, who was stillborn at four months old

"💗 'I carried you for every second of your life, and I will love you every second of mine,'" Jill captioned a photo of herself wiping away tears while holding a bundle of pink blankets. "1 week ago today we laid our baby girl to rest. We will love you forever Isla Marie! 😘❌⭕️❌⭕️ #islamariedillard #pregnancyloss #miscarriage #stillbirth."

In a second image, Jill shared a photo of little Isla's hand-embroidered baby blanket featuring her full name as well as a tiny bundle of knitted blankets and what resembles a tiny infant wearing a knitted pink hat. In the background of the image, Jill is holding hands with her husband, Derik Dillard.

Jill and Derik share three sons — Israel, 9, Samuel, 6, and Frederick, 21 months.

The couple first announced their loss on April 13, posting an image of themselves cradling their child, writing, "💔It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard. Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero. From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby. Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world. We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie. 😭"

The family had an intimate funeral service for Isla on April 19, which was attended by Jill's family, including her estranged father, Jim Bob Duggar.

In 2023, Jill spoke with ET ahead of the release of her memoir, Counting the Cost. At the time, she opened up about her broken relationship with her family, whom she starred alongside with on the TLC series 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On

Amid some tension, Jill shared with ET at the time that she still has love for her family.

"I think it could be helpful for some of my siblings to read and to hear our perspective on our story that may have been filtered. I think that it could be helpful for them to hear our story, but then also I think it could be freeing for some of my siblings," she said. "... I think if that helps them, and frees them, and gives them their voice, and it empowers them, then I think that's amazing. I would love for all of them to read it."
