The multitalented star is to receive the award at the 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards on June 3 for her "longstanding and global impact on fashion."
Lopez, 49, has been serving unforgettable looks on the red carpet, onstage and on the street for decades, and many of them have gone down in pop culture history -- who can ever forget the plunging Versace gown from the 2000 GRAMMYs?
"Jennifer Lopez’s style is bold, uninhibited, and always memorable,” said Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA, in a press release. “Designers, including many of our CFDA Members, love to dress her for both stage and private moments."
"Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power,” CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg added. “Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements."
J.Lo joins a star-studded list of past recipients including Rihanna, Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams.
2019 is seemingly becoming one of her most memorable years. Lopez got engaged to Alex Rodriguez in March, is starring in the highly anticipated film Hustlers, alongside Cardi B and Constance Wu, and will soon kick off her 25-city North American It's My Party tour in June, which marks the 20th anniversary of her first album, On the 6.
