Jennifer Lopez hit the red carpet with her 'Atlas' co-star, Simu Liu, in Mexico City.
Jennifer Lopez was a vision in white as she stepped out on Tuesday in Mexico City.
The actress attended a fan event for her upcoming Netflix film, Atlas, at Plaza Toreo Parque Central. Lopez hit the red carpet solo amid "tension" in her marriage to Ben Affleck, wearing a stunning ruffled dress by Chloé.
Lopez, 54, posed for photos with her Atlas co-star, Simu Liu, and director, Brad Peyton. Though her hands were mostly concealed by long, flowy sleeves, her wedding band was visible in some shots.
The star took to Instagram to share more images of her gorgeous ensemble, writing "¡Viva Mexico!" in her caption.
Earlier that day, a source offered a bit of context to ET regarding Lopez and Affleck's recent marital troubles.
"Ben feels like Jen has a hard time feeling satisfied and that's one of the issues they're facing," the source said. "Ben is one of the only people who feels comfortable enough to be honest and real with Jen. It's part of why Jen loves him, but also why she's upset with him."
The source added, "She tries to play it off like she doesn't care what the public thinks about her, but she loves her fans so much, so their feedback does impact her. Ben and Jen are going through normal problems and nothing scandalous is going on."
The situation comes amid a busy time for Lopez as she continues on a press tour for Atlas.
The star was joined by Liu and fellow co-star Sterling K. Brown for ET's red carpet interview at the film's Los Angeles premiere on Monday. The trio were all smiles as they reflected on working together and discussed the biggest themes of their new sci-fi film -- including learning how to trust and who to trust.
"One thing you can always trust in [is] family," Lopez said, smiling.
The star later shared a viral clip of ET's interview on her Instagram story.
In her action-packed new film, Lopez stars as Atlas Shepherd, a brilliant but troubled data analyst in the future, who has a genuine and all-encompassing distrust of Artificial Intelligence. She is drawn into a mysterious mission to capture a renegade robot, and stumbles into a deadly mystery that could impact the world.
This is the latest in a number of recent projects for Lopez, who has even more in progress.
"I have a tour coming up in the summer, you know, a couple of movies coming out next year, so I'm excited. It's just like a great time," Lopez said. "Who knew that I would be, like, [an] action hero? With The Mother and Atlas now?"
Apart from starring in Atlas, Lopez's Nuyorican Productions co-produced the film in collaboration with Netflix, and the actress marveled at what they were able to create.
"Look at this cast here, this diverse cast. I'm very proud of this movie," Lopez said, sharing the moment with her co-stars. "I think, you know, a big action movie being helmed by a huge streamer, a huge studio like this putting the three of us in it to be the leads? I'm proud to be producing it."
Atlas premieres Friday, May 24 on Netflix.
