'The Farewell,' 'The Lighthouse' and 'Uncut Gems' are heading to the Oscars for Indies.
Nomination season has officially commenced.
On Thursday, Film Independent, with the help of Joker's Zazie Beetz and Russian Doll's Natasha Lyonne, announced the nominees for the 2020 Film Independent Spirit Awards. And this year's nominations are particularly high-profile, with recognition for the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Robert Pattinson and Adam Sandler.
As for who will take home the most coveted prize in indie cinema, the 35th annual Spirit Awards will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, on the beach in Santa Monica and air live on IFC at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT.
