The ‘Barefoot Contessa’ host once cooked a birthday dinner for the actress!
Jennifer Garner got a birthday shout-out from one of her heroes -- and it was not store-bought!
The actress and mother of three, who turned 46 on Tuesday, received a sweet message on her big day from famous friend and culinary icon Ina Garten, host of the long-running Food Network show Barefoot Contessa.
“Happy birthday @jennifer.garner!!” Garten captioned a pic of her and the Peppermint star from 2015, when the celebrity chef cooked a private meal at Garner’s home for her 43rd birthday. “It always reminds me of our wonderful day foraging in your garden and cooking together! Sending lots of love.”
Garner has previously gushed about her celebratory meal with Garten, and even posted about it herself on the TV chef’s 70th birthday back in February.
“Three years ago @inagarten cooked for me on my birthday...today is her 70th birthday and if I was able to cook for her, it would only be because she taught me (and the rest of America) how,” Garner captioned the pic. “Thank you and happy birthday, Ina. Xx.”
And, in fact, the Love, Simon star seems to be following in Garten’s culinary footsteps! Garner has a running series on her social media accounts, playfully called “#PretendCookingShow” in which she shows fans how to make some of her favorite recipes, like English muffins, bagels and even Garten’s own recipe for honey white bread.
Most recently, Garner showed off her recipe for homemade granola bars, aka “pass-it-back” snacks.
“You know, those easy snacks you can pass back to hungry kids in a car on the way to wherever your afternoons bring you,” the actress said of the treats, made with oats, coconut flour, honey and other yummy ingredients. “Here’s a way to make them at home with ingredients you know and can pronounce. #passitbacksnack #sofarsogood #notaprettybaker.”
We’re sure Garner’s three kids, 12-year-old Violet, 9-year-old Seraphina and 6-year-old Samuel appreciate all the wholesome, homemade snacks! See more on the actress’ home life in the video below.
