The 'Morning Show' star surprises a man and his daughters after the death of their mother.
No one is safe from the waterworks on Ellen DeGeneres' new special, Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways. In a new clip, DeGeneres enlists her good pal, Jennifer Aniston, to help give one family a Christmas they won't soon forget.
In the segment, Elyse reveals that her father, Jeff Kimball, has lost his job and that her mother died from sarcoma cancer when she was just three. To help cheer the family up during the holidays, DeGeneres and Aniston invite Jeff and his two daughters on the show.
In an emotional clip shared on USA Today, the Morning Show star is brought to tears when Jeff reveals that his wife loved DeGeneres and that the comedian's Finding Nemo character, Dory, provided the family with a special motto.
"She was going in for a 13-hour surgery. The last thing I did was blow her a kiss and say, 'Just keep swimming,'" he says.
A visually emotional Aniston asks, "Oh my god, I mean, what would your mom say right now if she knew you guys were here?"
"She would be so happy. Ellen, she was your biggest fan, so she'd be like, 'Move over because I'm getting closer!'" Jeff replies.
The talk show host and actress then surprise the family by completely decking out their house for the holidays, covering the outside in lights and adding decorations, a Christmas tree, and gifts inside.
The touching moment leaves everyone in tears, and from the looks of the promo for the special, it's not the first or last time guests will be overcome with emotion.
"You're going to hit all the emotions. I know I did," Justin Timberlake says in the clip as you see him wiping away tears.
"Expect a lot of laughter of course, and a lot of tears because it's an emotional moment for everybody," Chrissy Teigen adds.
Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways premieres Tuesday, Dec. 10.
