While confined, the former 'Real Housewife of Salt Lake City' continues to closely monitor all the unfolding drama.
Jen Shah is pushing back against The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay's accusations that she was the one who gave her the infamous black eye back in season 3, and is also criticizing Bravo for not providing evidence of the alleged attack.
In a statement shared on her Instagram Story from prison late Tuesday, Shah addressed Bravo directly, saying, "BRAVO, if I punched Heather in her eye, you guys would have footage to prove it. It’s clear the show can’t live without me since I was brought up at the beginning, middle, and end of season 4."
The 50-year-old former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star also took aim at Andy Cohen, accusing him of being "butthurt" because she declined a one-on-one interview following her fraud conviction. She questioned the logic of sitting down with someone accused of causing harm to another cast member, dismissing it with a curt, "Next story."
During the season 4 finale of RHOSLC, 49-year-old Gay revealed that she had lied to protect Shah, concealing the fact that her co-star allegedly caused her injury. Gay recounted the challenges she faced defending Shah and enduring criticism on a book tour. She expressed the feeling that she had to lie to shield Shah, stating, "I did whatever it took. I went on a book tour and defended her and took s**t for the fact that she gave me a black eye."
Monica Garcia, a newcomer to the reality show, responded dismissively to Gay's revelation, saying, "I'm glad you finally told the truth for once. So, good for you," before leaving at Gay’s request.
During his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, 55-year-old Cohen shared that one of the things that is great about the RHOSLC finale is that no one leaked it and everyone thought the big reveal would be Monica suing Heather for work at Beauty Lab.
Cohen dove into Shah's Instagram post, noting that as someone recently targeted by a phone scam, he finds the timing of her message intriguing. While he refrained from directly associating her with his own fraud experience, he described the situation as ironic.
Cohen mentioned that if they possessed footage of the punch, they would have broadcast it. However, he confessed to forgetting about the planned one-on-one interview with Shah and expressed his disinterest, citing her "insane" stipulations. Shah had sought a docuseries covering her pre-jail days, demanded a significant sum of money, and maintained her innocence, making it apparent to Cohen that the interview would involve her deceiving him.
Currently serving more than five years at Bryan Federal Prison Camp in Texas for her role in a telemarketing scheme targeting the elderly, Shah is scheduled for release on Aug. 30, 2028.
Despite her circumstances, she has managed to make the most of her time in prison, forming a friendship with fellow fraudster Elizabeth Holmes and collaborating on a play titled The Real Housewives of Bryan with fellow inmates.
